Gupta's InfoUSA Pays Pelosi's Son Ronald Kessler Tuesday, June 5, 2007
A database company that has showered money on Bill and Hillary Clinton – and is alleged to have aided scam artists – now appears to have close links to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's family as well. The firm InfoUSA, headed by major Clinton backer Vinod Gupta, has placed Pelosi's son, Paul Pelosi Jr., on its payroll – even though he has no experience in the company's main business activities, NewsMax has learned. As NewsMax previously reported, InfoUSA repeatedly rented marketing databases to unscrupulous persons who used the information to defraud the unsuspecting elderly, investigators found. The company is also under fire in a shareholder lawsuit which alleges that Gupta is appropriating company funds for personal use and his political pet projects. Shareholder critics are furious that Gupta had InfoUsa pay former President Bill Clinton $2.1 million in "consulting fees" since he left the White House, with another $1.2 million promised. Gupta has also spent roughly $1 million of InfoUsa funds to provide corporate jet flights for both President Clinton and his wife Hillary. Pelosi's son Paul acknowledged he has also been taking trips on corporate jets provided by Info USA.
Paid $180,000 for Second Job
Just four weeks after Nancy Pelosi became speaker of the House this past January, Gupta and InfoUSA hired her son as a senior vice president. He told NewsMax InfoUsa pays him $180,000 a year. Even though his job with InfoUSA is considered full-time, Paul Pelosi continues another full-time job, as a home loan officer at Countrywide Home Loans, part of Countrywide Financial, in San Mateo, a suburb of San Francisco.
While InfoUSA is based in Omaha, Pelosi said he reports to a small InfoUSA office in San Mateo. In two interviews, Paul Pelosi confirmed that Gupta hired him as senior vice president for strategic development starting Feb. 1, just after Pelosi's mother took the gavel as speaker on Jan. 4. He said his mother is aware of his new job. A person familiar with the arrangement says Gupta treats Pelosi as a "trophy" and has the Speaker's son accompany him at high profile meetings around the country. Pelosi denied the suggestion he is being used because of his family ties. "I don't think that's really what happens," he said. Nor does he "think" his hiring was related to his mother becoming speaker, he said. But he acknowledged the timing raises a "good question." "It's interesting, timing-wise," Pelosi said. "I don't see it that way, but I could see why you'd ask the question ... I guess you always wonder why somebody hires you, right?" Asked how he can hold two full-time jobs at once, Pelosi said Countrywide is satisfied as long as he fulfills his quotas. Spokesmen for Nancy Pelosi and for InfoUSA did not respond to requests by NewsMax for comment. Paul Pelosi said he met Gupta about three years ago when the businessman refinanced a $3 million Countrywide loan on one of his more than half a dozen homes. He said he decided to apply for a job with InfoUSA about six months ago. Asked what a home mortgage loan officer would know about the business of InfoUsa which manages databases about consumers for direct mail and telemarketing, Pelosi said his experience in investment banking has been useful to the company in its acquisitions of other companies. "Basically, the record's pretty clear that they buy about two or three companies a year and that is to continue," he said. "And so what you want to do is you want to take a look at the earnings of a company and you want to take a look at what they do ... You've got to do an analysis of the people and the strategic fit." Pelosi said he "did the same thing" at Montgomery Securities and Bank of America, previous companies he worked for. In 1995, Pelosi obtained a joint law degree and MBA from Georgetown University with a concentration in world economies and global sustainable development. Before becoming a home loan officer at Countrywide, he was a sales manager at the company's San Mateo office. "I'm very qualified at what I do," he said. "I work a lot of hours at it, and it's only been a couple months but in that short period of time, I've been able to really work on some material projects, which are coming forward." Since starting with InfoUSA, Pelosi said he has looked into a possible acquisition of a company in Portland, Ore., with revenue of $8 million a year. "For a company that does $650 million in [projected] revenue a year, $8 million is a small thing," Pelosi said. "I go in there and meet with the people, we look at the leases. We're trying to figure out what their cash flow is." When he flies on the company jet, Pelosi said, it's always with Gupta on business. He said his relationship with Gupta is "nothing like the Clinton situation."
InfoUSA Practices Questioned
The Iowa attorney general's office, in an investigation that began in 2005, found that InfoUSA sold consumer data to telemarketing criminals who used it to steal money from elderly Americans, sometimes wiping out their life savings. InfoUSA advertised call lists with titles like "Elderly Opportunity Seekers" or "Suffering Seniors," a compilation of names and phone numbers of people with cancer or Alzheimer's disease. "Oldies but Goodies" was a list of 500,000 gamblers over age 55. "These people are gullible," the company said in describing the list. "They want to believe that their luck can change." E-mails show the company continued to sell the lists even though its employees knew their customers were being investigated for fraud that victimized the elderly. InfoUSA has said the lists were aberrations and has said it would not engage in such practices again. Gupta, 60, is an entrepreneur from India who founded InfoUSA in 1972 and built it into a publicly traded company with reported revenue of $434 million in 2006. Gupta also considers himself a player in Democratic fundraising circles and stayed in the Lincoln Bedroom when Bill Clinton was in the White House. He gave at least $1 million to the Clinton Library and raised over $200,000 for Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign. Hillary has also made extensive use of InfoUSA's jet for campaign trips for which she had to reimburse InfoUSA an amount equal to a first class airline ticket. Use of a corporate jet for two hours could be worth $20,000 or more, but under Senate rules Mrs. Clinton may only have to pay the equivalent of the premium ticket. In the past, Stormy Dean, chief financial officer of InfoUSA, has said Bill Clinton lends the company "credibility." The payments to Clinton came to light as a result of shareholder lawsuits brought by Cardinal Capital Management of Greenwich, Conn., an investment management firm, and Dolphin Limited Partnership of Stamford, Conn., a hedge fund. The suits, now consolidated, claim that Gupta's spending on the Clintons is part of a pattern of improper corporate expenditures for such items as luxury cars, jets, and houses, as well as a yacht based in the U.S. Virgin Islands with an all-female crew. Gupta has said the expenditures were legitimate and has asked for dismissal of the lawsuit.
Pelosi Clan
Besides being a loan officer at Countrywide and now a senior vice president of InfoUSA, Paul Pelosi is president of San Francisco's Commission on the Environment. Former Mayor Willie Brown originally appointed him in 2003. The affable Pelosi keeps an extremely low profile. But in a recent interview with Men's Vogue, Pelosi revealed that he lives in an apartment in San Francisco's Marina district, where he abstains from using heat or air conditioning and doesn't wash his clothes during peak energy consumption hours. According to the magazine, he usually takes the electric bus, but when he does drive, it's in a tiny, two-seat Smart car, a hand-me-down from his parents. Referring to his position with the environmental commission, Pelosi told the magazine, "If we think there's an environmental hazard that can be prevented, then we don't wait for that risk to emerge." Pelosi's commission has urged the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to require stores to charge a fee to customers who want plastic bags rather than paper. Pelosi, a marathon runner, described himself as "a momentum person" who often makes a six-egg omelet for breakfast. "Six eggs at a minimum," he told NewsMax. "Six is a good start. I'm a doer, I work. So I have to take in some fuel, I got to get going in the morning. I have to eat, because I gotta think, and I gotta work." Pelosi has four sisters, including Alexandra, a documentary filmmaker. Alexandra's entertaining "Journeys with George" followed George W. Bush during his first presidential campaign. Nancy Pelosi met her future husband, Paul Pelosi, while attending Trinity College in Washington. After she graduated in 1962, they married and moved to his hometown of San Francisco, where he is in real estate. Because of his holdings, she is the ninth wealthiest member of the House, with assets of $14.7 million to $55 million. Paul Sr.'s San Francisco investment firm owns stock in companies like Microsoft, AT&T, Cisco Systems, Disney, and Johnson & Johnson. His real estate investments include a four-story office building in the Financial District of San Francisco, office buildings on Battery and Sansome streets, a building housing a drugstore near Ocean Beach, and other commercial property in San Anselmo. Other California investments include a St. Helena vineyard, a town house in Norden, and minority interests in the Auberge du Soleil resort hotel in Rutherford, the CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, and the Piatti Italian restaurant chain.

IMPORTANT A stock clerk was sent to clean up a storeroom in Maui , Hawaii
When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse or rat droppings in some areas. A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with a stomach flu, complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit.
He went to bed and never really got up again. Within two days he was severely ill and weak. His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were yellow. He was rushed to the emergency at Pali-Momi, where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure. He died shortly before midnight No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat or mouse droppings at any time. They said there is a virus (much like the Hanta virus) that lives in dried rat and mouse droppings.
Once dried, these droppings are like dust and can easily be breathed in or ingested if a person does not wear protective gear or fails to wash face and hands thoroughly .An autopsy was performed on the clerk to verify the doctor's suspicions.
This is why it is extremely important to ALWAYS carefully rinse off the tops of canned sodas or foods, and to wipe off pasta packaging, cereal boxes, and so on. Almost everything you buy in a supermarket was stored in a warehouse at one time or another, and stores themselves often have rodents.
Most of us remember to wash vegetables and fruits but never think of boxes and cans. The ugly truth is, even the most modern, upper-class, super store has rats and mice. And their warehouse most assuredly does!
Whenever you buy any canned soft drink, please make sure that you wash the top with running water and soap or, if that is not available, drink with a straw. The investigation of soda cans by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that the tops of soda cans can be encrusted with dried rat's urine, which is so toxic it can be lethal. Canned drinks and other foodstuffs are stored in warehouses and containers that are usually infested with Rodents, and then they get transported to retail outlets without being properly cleaned.

I am sorry but after hearing they want to sing the National Anthem in Spanish - enough is enough. Nowhere did they sing it in Italian, Polish, Irish (Celtic), German or any other language because of immigration. It was written by Francis Scott Key and should be sung word for word the way it was written The news broadcasts even gave the translation -- not even close. Sorry if this offends anyone but this is MY COUNTRY - IF IT IS YOUR COUNTRY SPEAK UP -- please pass this along. I am not against immigration -- just come through like everyone else. Get a sponsor; have a place to lay your head; have a job; pay your taxes, live by the rules AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE as all other immigrants have in the past -- and GOD BLESS AMERICA! Think about this: If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone -- YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM!It is Time for America to Speak up

Subject: Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France
An elderly gentleman of 83 arrived in Paris by plane. At the French customs desk, the man took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry-on bag. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked, sarcastically. The elderly gentleman admitted he had been to France previously. "Then you should know enough to have your passport ready." The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it." "Impossible. Americans always have to show their passports on arrival in France!" The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained. "Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find any Frenchmen to show it to."
Letter From the CMC - James T. Conway Subject: From the CMC Dear Fellow Marine, Our Nation is at war - our Corps is at war - fighting a determined enemy bent on terror and domination. Your fellow Marines need your help. Our operational tempo has increased at the same time that the President has authorized the Marine Corps to grow, and it is for this reason that your Corps again needs you - not to return to active duty but to assume an active role in recruiting the next generation of Marines. This kind of help can best be provided by those who have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, and that's why this letter is in your hands.
This important task require the support of all Marines. You are uniquely qualified and strategically positioned to help influence the "influencers" who mentor today's youth. I ask that you, as a Marine, make a personal call to someone within your community, a teacher, a principal, a pastor, a coach - and help them to better understand the nature of our Corps. Many of our countrymen do not understand that Once a Marine, always a Marine, is a phrase that has stood the test of time and is a testimony to the enduring strength of our Corps. The title of Marine is a Privilege earned in boot camp, steeled by service to the Nation, and carried with dignity throughout life. We live by our core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment - both as active Marines and as quality citizens after our time in the Corps is over.
We are calling a new generation of Marines to serve. They will carry the battle tested colors of our Corps just as you once carried them - with honor and with pride. We still Make Marines, Win Battles, and Create Quality Citizens! I ask for your continued commitment to ensure this tradition endures and our proud legacy prevails.

ONCE A MARINE ... 5-3-07 via DA BLACK CLOUD FROM GEOOOORGIA U. S...OF AMERICACourting of Gen. Jones -- candidates from parties woo policy-savvy ex-Marine WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton have at least one thing in common on the foreign-policy front, Wall Street Journal reports. His name is Gen. James L. Jones. Gen. Jones is a freshly retired Marine Corps general who stands 6-foot-5, speaks fluent French and served until December as supreme allied commander in Europe. He says he thinks that the troops should stay in Iraq, but that the U.S. should close the Guantanamo military prison "tomorrow." He advocates engagement with friends and enemies alike. And, more to the point, he pledges allegiance to no political party. All of which has made Gen. Jones one of Washington's hottest political commodities. As they look toward an election sure to be dominated by issues of war and national security, candidates from both major parties are clamoring to get Gen. Jones on their side. JONES WAS A BASKETBALL player at Groveton (Va.) High and lettered in the 1963-64 season at Georgetown (D.C.) University, where as a 6-5 forward he wore No. 30.
GEN. JAMES L. JONES att.net blocks parts of photos New York's Sen. Clinton has told some advisers that if she is elected she could imagine putting Gen. Jones in her cabinet, possibly as defense secretary, these advisers say. Her campaign says such talk "is way premature," but in a statement, Sen. Clinton says she has enjoyed her "many conversations about military and diplomatic issues" with Gen. Jones. "I am confident he has much to contribute to our nation in the years to come," she said. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, another top Democratic contender, consults regularly with Gen. Jones on foreign-policy issues and "thinks the world of him," according to one Obama aide. Gen. Jones, a slow-talking native of Kansas City, Mo., is also close to some top-flight Republicans. Arizona's Sen. McCain, another presidential contender, recently described Gen. Jones as one of his "closest and longtime friends" and predicted he would play an important role in any future McCain administration. "HE’S LIKE (GEN. Dwight D.] Eisenhower, who belonged to no camp and everyone wanted him," says Democratic House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who considers Gen. Jones "one of our country's most important assets" and has been urging him to become a Democrat. Rep. Ellen Tauscher of California, who heads the centrist New Democrat Coalition and has known Gen. Jones for 10 years, calls him "the biggest 'get' out there" -- so big, she says, that she has been wary of pushing too strongly on him becoming a Democrat for fear he'll say no. Kansas Republican Sen. Pat Roberts, also a former Marine, calls Gen. Jones "a national treasure" and says he would like to see him run for higher office. "Jim is a rare political commodity these days," says Sen. Roberts, adding that he assumed Gen. Jones is a Republican. "With the Democrats trying to woo him, we owe it to ourselves to say, 'Please, stay home. You belong with us.' " Gen. Jones has become the ultimate catch for either party because he so well captures the current political zeitgeist on security and America's image abroad. He's a worldly, tough-minded former 32nd Marine commandant of 1999-2003 who has criticized former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's handling of Iraq war, saying U.S. failed to prepare "for day after Saddam's statue fell down." At the same time he advocates sharply more centrist foreign policy than Bush administration's, asserting America's image has suffered in recent years, and must be repaired. "I am for proactive engagement," he says in an interview in his office at U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he is running group's new Energy Institute. "I am for capitalizing on fact that United States has a history of benevolent leadership and engagement, and I want to be around to see those times develop again." BUT HE ALSO has some pointed advice to Democrats when it comes to President Bush's "surge" of troops in Iraq: "Understand the fact that regardless how you got there, there is a strategic price of enormous consequence for failure in Iraq," he says. "Too much of discussion is way too tactical. Everyone wants to be a squad leader." As chief of NATO and U.S. European command, Gen. Jones was deeply engaged in Afghanistan but had little to do with Iraq policy. Despite his size, Gen. Jones leans toward the laconic, even the mellow, particularly for a Marine. Friends jokingly call him "the intellectual Marine." He grew up largely in Paris, son of International Harvester executive. He graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, and then joined Marine Corps -- continuing unbroken chain of Jones family Marines going back to 1939. His son, Marine Capt. Greg Jones, just completed two tours in Iraq. By JOHN GUNN USMCR-ret., Gulf Breeze, Fla.

The proud warriors of Baker Company wanted to do something to pay tribute to our fallen comrades. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING ! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out any eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! If YOU are one of them . . . CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives "for our own good". And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?! The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,"Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
The Military The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's; but he has never collected unemployment either.
He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average
student,
He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is
not without
He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to
create them.
He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and
understanding.
wheel for our military... please don't break it. Please send
this on after a short prayer.
We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.
I watched the flag pass by one day,
A young Marine saluted it,
I looked at him in uniform
I thought how many men like him
How many pilots' planes shot down?
When a flag had draped a coffin.
I thought of all the children,
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
Enjoy Your Freedom & God Bless Our
Troops
Subject: I'm proud to send this one
I'm proud to send this one I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND TO THE REPUBLIC, FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL! I was asked to send this on if I agree or delete if I don't. It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having "In God! We Trust" on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to Shut Up and BE QUIET!!! If you agree, pass this on, if not delete. I AGREE !!!! "God Bless America."
Subject: A MESSAGE FROM NEWT This is a transcript of a section of a Gingrich Speech in New Hampshire. Apparently it is causing a firestorm NEWT GINGRICH: The third thing I want to talk about very briefly is the genuine danger of terrorism, in particular terrorists using weapons of mass destruction and weapons of mass murder, nuclear and biological weapons. And I want to suggest to you that right now we should be impaneling people to look seriously at a level of supervision that we would never dream of if it weren't for the scale of threat. Let me give you two examples. When the British this summer arrested people who were planning to blow up ten airliners in one day, they arrested a couple who were goin g to use their six month old baby in order to hide the bomb as baby milk. Now, if I come to you tonight and say that there are people on the planet who hate you, and they are 15-25 year old males who are willing to die as long as they get to kill you, I've simply described the warrior culture which has been true historically for 6 or 7 thousand years. But, if I come to you and say that there is a couple that hates you so much that they will kill their six month old baby in order to kill you, I am describing a level of ferocity, and a level of savagery beyond anything we have tried to deal with. And, what is truly frightening about the British experience is they are arresting British citizens, born in Britain , speaking English, who went to British schools, live in British housing, and have good jobs. This is a serious long term war, and it will inevitably lead us to want to know what is said in every suspect place in the country, that will lead us to learn how to close down every website that is dangerous, and it will lead us to a very severe approach to people who advocate the killing of Americans and advocate the use of nuclear or biological weapons. And, my prediction to you is that either before we lose a city, or if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us to stop them from recruiting people before they get to reach out and convince young people to destroy their lives while destroying us. This is a serious problem that will lead to a serious debate about the first amendment, but I think that the national security threat of losing an American city to a nuclear weapon, or losing several million Americans to a biological attack is so real that we need to proactively, now, develop the appropriate rules of engagement. And, I further think that we should propose a Geneva convention for fighting terrorism which makes very clear that those who would fight outside the rules of law, those who would use weapons of mass destruction, and those who would target civilians are in fact subject to a totally different set of rules that allow us to protect civilization by defeating barbarism before it gains so much strength that it is truly horrendous. This is a sober topic, but I think it is a topic we need a national dialogue about, and we need to get ahead of the curve rather than wait until actually we literary lose a city which could literally happen within the next decade if we are unfortunate. (APPLAUSE) This is finally said in a way that even the most "head in the sand" person can understand it. Please God, help us. This is a very sober description of the Islamic terrorist threat we are faced with. We are NOW at war with a culture that wants, not to take over our land, but to KILL us. Please pass this on to those on your list. End of

Subject: WHAT HAPPENS IF WE LOSE THE WAR IN IRAQ ?
YIPES -->--> note those PRICE$$$ Will we still be the Country of choice and still be America if we continue to make the changes forced on us by the people from other countries that came to live in America because it is the Country of Choice??????Think about it! All we have to say is, when will they do something about MY RIGHTS?
I celebrate Christmas...........but because it isn't celebrated by everyone..............we can no longer say Merry Christmas. Now it has to be Season's Greetings. It's not Christmas vacation, it's Winter Break. Isn't it amazing how this winter break ALWAYS occurs over the Christmas holiday? We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that I am now being offended. But it seems that no one has a problem with that. This says it! all! This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a Tampa newspaper. He did quite a job, didn't he? Read on, please! IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT. I am tired of this nation worrying about w hether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However...... the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others. I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to ! America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Americans...... we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.
We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! "In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan.. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women.......on Christian principles............. founded this nation..... and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home.........because God is part of our culture. If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should serio usly consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how y! ou did t hings where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so! But once you are done complaining....... whining...... and griping....... about our flag....... our pledge...... our national motto........or our way of life....I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other Great American Freedom....... THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.
It is Time for America to Speak up If you agree -- pass this along; if you don't agree -- delete it! AMEN
Subject: Dinner in Montana - I want to go there! More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says One News Now.com ^ | 2/22/07 | Jim BrownPosted on 03/02/2007 8:18:13 AM EST by alienkenMore Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says Jim Brown February 22, 2007 Illegal aliens are killing more Americans than the Iraq war, says a new report from Family Security Matters that estimates some 2,158 murders are committed every year by illegal aliens in the U.S. The group says that number is more than 15 percent of all the murders reported by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the U.S. and about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population. Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM). He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration. "The military actually called for the BORTAC team, ... the elite unit of the Border Patrol, to be detailed to Iraq to help to secure the Iraqi border," Cutler notes. "Now, if our military can understand that Iraq's security depends in measure on the ability to protect its border against insurgents and terrorists, then why isn't our country similarly protecting our own borders?" he asks. "We are now five and a half years, nearly, after 9/11, and yet our borders remain open," the Center for Immigration Studies fellow observes. "We have National Guardsmen assigned on the border, but it turns out they are unarmed," he points out. "Their rules of engagement are very simple: if armed intruders head your way, run in the other direction." This situation would "almost be comical if it wasn't so tragic," Cutler asserts. "If our borders are wide open, this means that drugs, criminals, and terrorists are entering our country just as easily as the dishwashers," he says. The report from FSM estimates that the 267,000 illegal aliens currently incarcerated in the nation are responsible for nearly 1,300,000 crimes, ranging from drug arrests to rape and murder. Such statistics, Cutler contends, debunk the claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime. "Then we even have another problem," he adds, "and that's the Visa Waiver Program." The federal government's Visa Waiver Program enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. According to the U.S. State Department website, the waiver program was established in 1986 with the objective of "eliminating unnecessary barriers to travel," stimulating America's tourism industry, and allowing the government to focus consular resources in other areas. Cutler says the U.S. retains the Visa Waiver Program because the nation's travel, tourism, and hospitality industries want America's borders wide open. In other words, the former INS official contends, the nation's security is being compromised in the name of trade. The Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant in the picture is Michael Burghard, part of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team that is supporting 2nd Brigade 28th Infantry Division (Pennsylvania Army National Guard). I heard the below story first hand last Saturday during a video teleconference between his Brigade Commander and the 28th Infantry Division Commander. I thought that others should hear it as I think it demonstrates the true spirit of most of our troops on the ground (from my experience).Leading the fight is Gunnery Sgt Michael Burghardt, known as "Iron Mike" or just "Gunny". He is on his third tour in Iraq. He had become a legend in the bomb disposal world after winning the Bronze Star for disabling 64 IEDs and destroying 1,548 pieces of ordnance during his second tour. Then, on September 19, he got blown up. He had arrived at a chaotic scene after a bomb had killed four US soldiers. He chose not to wear the bulky bomb protection suit. "You can't react to any sniper fire and you get tunnel-vision," he explains. So, protected by just a helmet and standard-issue flak jacket, he began what bomb disposal officers term "the longest walk", stepping gingerly into a 5ft deep and 8ft wide crater. The earth shifted slightly and he saw a Senao base station with a wire leading from it. He cut the wire and used his 7in knife to probe the ground. "I found a piece of red detonating cord between my legs," he says. "That's when I knew I was screwed."Realizing he had been sucked into a trap, Sgt Burghardt, 35, yelled at everyone to stay back. At that moment, an insurgent, probably watching through binoculars, pressed a button on his mobile phone to detonate the secondary device below the sergeant's feet. "A chill went up the back of my neck and then the bomb exploded," he recalls. "As I was in the air I remember thinking, 'I don't believe they got me.'I was just ticked off they were able to do it. Then I was lying on the road, not able to feel anything from the waist down." His colleagues cut off his trousers to see how badly he was hurt. None could believe his legs were still there. "My dad's a Vietnam vet who's paralyzed from the waist down," says Sgt Burghardt. "I was lying there thinking I didn't want to be in a wheelchair next to my dad and for him to see me like that. They started to cut away my pants and I felt a real sharp pain and blood trickling down. Then I wiggled my toes and I thought, 'Good, I'm in business.' As a stretcher was brought over, adrenaline and anger kicked in. "I decided to walk to the helicopter. I wasn't going to let my team-mates see me being carried away on a stretcher." He stood and gave the insurgents who had blown him up a one-fingered salute."I flipped them one. It was like, 'OK, I lost that round but I'll be back next week'." Copies of a photograph depicting his defiance, taken by Jeff Bundy for the Omaha World-Herald, adorn the walls of homes across America and that of Col John Gronski, the brigade commander in Ramadi, who has hailed the image as an exemplar of the warrior spirit. Sgt Burghardt's injuries - burns and wounds to his legs and buttocks - kept him off duty for nearly a month and could have earned him a ticket home. But, like his father - who was awarded a Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts for being wounded in action in Vietnam - he stayed in Ramadi to engage in the battle against insurgents who are forever coming up with more ingenious ways of killing Americans. If you have this and duct tape, the world is yours. WD-40 I thought that you might like to know more about this well-known WD-40 product. When you read the "shower door" part, try it. It's the first thing that has cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a " Water Displacement" compound. They were successful with the Fortieth formulation, thus WD-40.The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their Atlas missile parts. The workers were so pleased with the product they began smuggling (also known as "shrinkage" or "stealing") it out to use at home. The executives decided there might be a consumer market for it and put it in aerosol cans. The rest is history. It is a carefully guarded recipe known only to four people. One of them is the "brew master." There are about 2.5 million gallons of the stuff manufactured each year. It gets its distinctive smell from a fragrance that is added to the brew. Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. Here are a few of the 1000’s of uses: ~Protects silver from tarnishing ~Cleans and lubricates guitar strings ~Gets oil spots off concrete driveways ~Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making it slippery ~Keeps flies off cows ~Restores and cleans chalkboards ~Removes lipstick stains ~Loosens stubborn zippers ~Untangles jewelry chains ~Removes stains from stainless steel sinks ~Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill ~Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing ~Removes tomato stains from clothing ~Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots ~Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors ~Keeps scissors working smoothly ~Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes ~Gives a children's play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide ~Lubricates gear shift and mower - deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers ~Rids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises ~Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to open |
