James (Jimmy) White James Story
I am glad that someone came up with a
site for the Marine 130 community to communicate. To tell you a little more
about myself. I joined in 1995 and was a powerplant mechanic. After 4 years I
changed jobs and became a Loadmaster. My time as a Loadmaster and in the Marines
was cut very short. I was diagnosed with a rare liver disease and needed a
transplant. Soon after I was assigned to 252 I was permantly grounded. I was
retired the following year and sent home. When I finally got the call for my
transplant my old OIC was in Quantico, VA. I called him and his wife answered, I
told her who it was and she remembered me. I then told her that I had finally
got my call for my transplant and to see if there was anyway that John, my old
OIC, could pick my mother and I up at the airport. She made a few calls and then
called me back. John was not able to pick me up but his wife and mother picked
us up. I then had my transplant on 7 Nov 2002. Two days later I was transferred
to Walter Reed Army Medical Center. And the next day was the Marine Corps
Birthday and John and three other officers I served with along with two enlisted
came and celebrated the birthday with me. So to me the 130 community is one that
will stick together forever.
