This airplane was manufactured at Lockheed in 1975 and acquired by the Marine Corps on January 01, 1977.  This airplanes assignment was VMGR-152.  There are notes for this aircraft indicating that this airplane is in storage at AMARC, and has been there since 2005.  There is no other information available for this airplane.

Here is 240 flying into Clark Intl formerly Clark AFB in the Philippines before she went to the bone-yard. Notice Number 3.


Jim Ballard Sends These Photo's of 160240's Wings Being Removed for Study:

Wing will be inspected/studied for cracks.
Rest of it will be scrapped.
It was accepted Jan 1977.


 

 

Capt. Greg Fletcher Sends This Information on 160240 on 01 July 2007

We dropped off 240 at AMARC on 11 Jul 06 (I'm on the far left). I'm not sure what
AMARC has in store for this aircraft, but as far as I know 240 is still is
still at AMARC.
