This airplane was manufactured at Lockheed in 1961.  This plane was acquired on October 01, 1962.  The planes assignment was VMGRT-253, and a note in the current location has this plane stricken and sunk as a reef.  There is no month or year listed for this activity.

Kevin Keller provided the following information for 150684:  Thanks Kevin

684 was struck in the late 90s because it made an aborted takeoff at Keesler AFB in Biloxi MS, went off the end of the runway and ended up in the bay. The nose was submerged in salt water for about 8 hours up to the flight station floor. VMGRT-253 made a one time flight back to Cherry Point for rework at NADEP, but by the time funding was in place to make the necessary repairs, the salt had corroded the aircraft beyond economic feasibility.
